Pole with towels and tea-towels, at a wedding in a village near Zadar, Croatia. It was once a tradition in villages in Dalmatia for the 'cajo' (always a member of the bride's family) to carry a pole such as this and gather towels, tea towels, handkerchiefs or other pieces of cloth to attach to the top.
