Italian Charnel House WW1 monument in Kobarid, Slovenia

The Italian Charnel House in Kobarid at dusk, Soča Valley, Slovenia. Designed by architect Giovanni Greppi and incorporating the existing 17th century Church of St Anthony of Padua, this WW1 monument which lies on the Pot Miru (Walk of Peace) was completed in 1938, and contains the remains of over 7,000 Italian soldiers who died during the various battles along the Isonzo Front during the First World War. © Rudolf Abraham
