< Juliana Trail Slovenia
The Juliana Trail is a new long-distance hiking trail through Slovenia's Julian Alps, which I'm currently writing the first guidebook to, for Cicerone. The Juliana makes a 270km circuit of the country's highest and most famous mountain, Triglav, without actually climbing it – the idea being to encourage visitors to explore the surrounding area, to promote slow travel in Slovenia and reduce overcrowding and trail erosion on Triglav itself. Work on the book had to be postponed in 2020 due to travel restrictions, but as of autumn 2021 I'm back to working on this and travelling to Slovenia again.
